Though not frequently used on Earth in popular music, this structure is known as polymetric music, as it comes down to using several time signatures simultaneously. Andromedan music also differs from terrestrial music by the use of a harmonic scale rather than a tempered whole-tone and halftone scale (Andromeda populations perceive frequencies linearly, unlike humans whose perception is logarithmic).
